FG Resolves ExxonMobil Dispute

A source from Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) said last
week that Nigeria is making progress towards resolving a dispute with
Exxon Mobil over oil licensing renewals covering fields producing more
than 500,000 barrels per day.

ODIEN Ajumogobia, minister of state for petroleum resources have said
that trade unions in the oil industry had all along been part of the
deliberations on the deregulation policy that government says was to
take off by November 1. Meanwhile, no new date has been fixed for the

OANDO Exploration and Production Limited (OEPL) announced that it has
received approval from the ministry of petroleum resources for Exile
Resources’ farm out deal, previously announced on January 5th, whereby
OEPL can acquire a 75 per cent interest in Exile’s 40 per cent in the
Akepo field (OML 90) in return for funding Exile’s previous costs, and
financing the future development of the project.

AFREN Nigeria, and its partner, Oriental Energy Resources, has
announced the commencement of drilling at the Ebok-Five well, offshore
South -east Nigeria. Following this, the two parties had signed a rig
contract with Transocean for the Adriatic IX jack-up drilling rig.
