FIDELITY Bank Plc has stated that it carried out various promos to inculcate savings culture into Nigerians.
This explanation came on the heels of the bank’s hugely successful Save & Fly Promo which heralded the bank’s 20th anniversary.
Mrs. Yvonne Isichei, general manager, consumer banking, pointed out that the overriding objective is to give Nigerians the incentive to building a savings culture which she described as the one sustainable way to create wealth for people.
According to her, “Aside from the need for freshness, we think that customers may feel less inclined to take a vacation at this time and better disposed to winning cash which they could easily plough back into savings in view of the state of the global economy.”
In his own comments, Mr.Dele Adedeji, general manager public sector, said the Fidelity Save & Smile was unique in that every one is was winner. “Every account opened means an instant gift which was collected there and then from the bank – so you do not have to hold your breath till the end of the month to know if you were lucky - once you top up your account - you win”, he explained.
